Agenda
- [Sean Jeffas] GEn-II analysis - big picture overview
- [Hunter Presley] PolHe3 target polarimetry - current status and next steps
Attendance
Arun, Sean, Gordon, Andrew, Anil, Bogdan, Chandan, David Armstrong, Faraz, Gary, Hunter, Jack Jackson, Kate, Jimmy, Jiwan, Mark Jones, Michael Kohl, Nilanga, Ole, Provakar, Saru, Todd, Xiaochao
Minutes
Sean's Talk:
- What do we need the GRINCH for in GEn?
- particle ID
- We need to generate timing offsets to properly use it, but track-matching is done (thanks to Maria)
- Add Wein flip check to beam IHWP state -> already implemented
- We may need to weight different run groups separately for asymmetry - Andrew
- Predict asymmetry on an event-by-event basis? - Bogdan
- You could also combine PbPt using run-by-run statistics to get an overall PbPt, and add raw counts of all runs together instead of assigning weights to each run - Xiaochao
- More discussion later
Hunter's Talk:
- 3% uncertainty in calibration of NMRs is dependent on using the standard error
- Chicago was in beam after Fringe -> 3/9/23-3/12/23
- Apply polarization to EACH run?
- All events within a run have the same polarization
- Might use something like a spin-up curve to estimate polarizations during non-steady running
- Define polarization as a function of time? Instead of using runs, define fit for polarization vs. time
- How does this fit change in time?
- Take care in evolving polarization properly and using proper uncertainty (time-dependent uncertainty?)
- We should create documentation for polarization work.
Side Notes and Offline Discussion:
- We need to define an approval procedure for different calibration methods.
- Andrew: rough estimate average of 100 (e,e'n) events per production run during highest Q^2 kinematics
- What are talks that people want to see for future analysis meetings?
