Agenda

  • 1. Simulations for GEn-II -> Sean Jeffas [1]
  • 2. Summary of Moller measurements for GEn-II experiment -> Faraz Chahili
  • 3. BBCAL plots with and without GRINCH cuts -> Kate Evans [2]

Attendance

Arun, Kate, Hunter, Sean, Todd, Faraz, Gordon, Gary, Jiwan, Andrew, Jack, Nilanga, Bogdan, Jimmy

Minutes

Sean's talk:

  • updated target geometry
  • is target too close to target frame?
    • check positioning, the ladder is too close to the target
    • how thick are the shims between the target ladder and transfer tubes?
  • generic target geometry doesn't affect neutron efficiency
    • important for backgrounds
  • we need the following generators:
    • elastic eN with radiative methods (SIMC)
    • inelastic to look at inelastic cross sections (g4SBS)
    • inelastic for pion electroproduction (MAID)
  • how will we calculate asymmetry from simulation?
    • need Misak's code to fold in all nuclear effects
    • how many "false" elastic events do we have?
    • event-by-event asymmetries are very computationally costly
    • effective neutron polarization might not be enough
    • how often do we need polarization values supplied?
      • Bogdan suggests every 20 minutes
    • need correction for field direction for GM
  • implementation of SIMC underway
    • needs updated target geometry -> Mark Jones

Faraz's talk:

  • is there any transverse polarization?

Note: Gordon has a graduate student who would like to work on GEn analysis.
