- Nitrogen correction update -> Sean Jeffas
- Thesis analysis update -> Gary Penman
Attendance
Arun, Kate, Eric, Don, Jacob, Hunter, Gordon, Sean, Braian, Vladimir, Faraz, Jack, Gary, Rachel, Bogdan, Xiaochao, Todd, Vimukthi
Minutes
Sean's talk:
- We have no runs on carbon without the sieve in
- Gordon suggests looking at yields from He3 - estimate helium by assuming nitrogen is zero
- Need ratio of good events sieve in vs sieve out
- Could try looking at hydrogen data
- What about runs on "empty target"? That would be data on air
- Do these exist?
- Single foil data?
- The magnets were off so this isn't really comparable
- Two foil data?
- Uncertainty from hole makes this difficult.
- Cut on z?
Gary's talk:
- Gary has proper code for functional form of field variations vs target vz
- Good job Gary!!
- Bogdan TOSCA calc from Vladimir's graph https://hallaweb.jlab.org/wiki/images/3/36/Box_10122020.pdf
- counting: passes all cut with helicity accounted for
- methods don't remove background
- integral: integrate the hitograms
- fitting: fit with polynomial + gaussian and integrate
- will this background subtraction work for anything other than GEN2?
- with higher background, will the numbers line up?
- Fitting doesn't seem to be statistically consistent with other techniques.
- Achieving backgrounds differently
- Considering "Inelastic region", how do we approach this?
- It may not be as important since these values are VERY small. Sean is using similar methods. No objections.
Arun wrap up:
- Would be interesting to look at a very condition stable time and how these methods will work.
- Still some curiosity on using different methods on a run by run basis
