Accelerator Status
- Reconfiguration/energy change scheduled on Nov 5th-Nov 8th; maintenance day moved from Tuesday, Nov. 2nd to Wednesday, Nov. 3rd;
Hall A Status and News
- Review results/feedback:
A review was conducted to reassess Hall A readiness and determine:
- if the incidents were understood => answer is yes;
- what were the mitigations installed or planned to avoid such incidents to occur again => answer is yes;
- what will be the updated processes and procedures => need several new OSPs
Review committee issued a list of recommandations and a worklist to complete before resuming operations. Implementing such constraints would bring us in the most optimistic scenario to the middle of next week; Provided the proximity of the accelerator reconfiguration, decision was taken to prepare directly for SBS7 kinematic setting and resume on Monday Nov 8th.
- guidance for detector experts wrt HV operations:
Please do not switch HVs on when Jessie's team is in the Hall => this statement remains true no matter what. This being said, Jessie informed us that he and his team would mostly be out of the hall this weekend, hence there is a possibility for the detector experts to switch your HVs on. The caveat to that is that he may decide to go down the hall, in which case he will warn me and I will have to switch them off. It also goes without saying that if you decide to switch your HVs on you should post it in the logbook! If Jessie was to not go down in the hall at all this weekend (which afaiu is likely), there is still the constraint that the HVs have to be off by 8am on Monday.
