Procedures
Hall A call-in instructions:
- Call RC first.
- Techs on site 7am-4:30pm Mon-Thu, 7-11am Fri. RC will call Hall A work coordinator (Zak) during normal working hours. After hours, RC calls Tech on-call.
- After 9 pm everything non-emergency needs to be deferred. What is an emergency and what's not? Call RC. RC talks with Mark to decide.
Hall Access procedure:
- The Access checklist (binder on the counting room desk) needs to be filled out before making *any* access.
- Scan (take pictures with phone) and post it to the logbook.
- Any work inside the SBS, BB boundary needs to have PS locked out -- requires two QEWs to throw the big switch. Exception: field measurements.
Status Update
Overall Summary
General A sincere note to all the subsystem experts/owners, please perform all (if there is any) work in the hall ASAP. Please coordinate with the RC/Hall A work coordinator for this. The Hall A Techs are working on taking the hall into controlled status.
Shift Plan
Beam
- None!
Hall A Dump Repair
- Yesterday, there was an inspection for any sign of water in any of the electrical components - There were no signs of water (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4221257).
- The backup pump was restarted yesterday and that was circulating water through the whole night (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4221258).
- This morning the facility will turn on the main pump and will keep that under observation for 4 hours before signing off.
- We are expecting to hear their final words after lunch.
- If everything goes well, we may get beam either today's swing/tomorrow's owl shift.
- Coordinated with Hall A work coordinator to take the hall into Controlled Access by the end of today (ASAP).
Accelerator status
- Yesterday, the injector group heated the cathode - The QE became 3x its previous -estimated to last until Christmas break.
- Last night and today during the day shift, MCC performed/will perform gradient calibrations for the cryomodules.
- Due to some expired OSP, the RF personnel could not work on some of the cryomodules (2L22 and 2L23).
- MCC is expecting to sign off the new OSP by noon and expects to beam to the halls by early swing.
