Procedures
Hall A call-in instructions:
- Call RC first.
- Techs on site 7am-4:30pm Mon-Thu, 7-11am Fri. RC will call Hall A work coordinator (Zak) during normal working hours. After hours, RC calls Tech on-call.
- After 9pm everything non-emergency needs to be deferred. What is emergency and what's not? Call RC. RC talks with Mark to decide.
Hall Access procedure:
- Access check list (binder on the counting room desk) needs to be filled out before making *any* access.
- Scan (take pictures with phone) and post it to the logbook.
- Any work inside the SBS, BB boundary need to have PS locked out -- requires two QEWs to throw the big switch. Exception: field measurements.
Status Update
Overall Summary
General
- We are troubleshooting GEMs and optimizing the target while awaiting beam.
Shift Plan
- All shifts are canceled through Monday Day shift.
- Starting Monday Swing, shifters are on standby.
Beam
- None!
Hall A Dump Repair
- The leak has been valved off and stopped.
- The pumps still need to be started.
- Stuart laid out the following conditions for restarting and for us to get beam again:
- "We have implemented a set of robust controls/alarms/interlocks that are available in the CEBAF control system that either automatically take action or prompt the operator to take action regarding the Hall A beam dump system and it cooling loop operation, whether the beam is operating or not. This includes all aspects of that cooling loop system including the provision for controlled release."
- "We have articulated clear ownership and lines of responsibility for the high-power Beam Dumps as operating systems. An operating system has a clearly defined system owner who is responsible for operation, maintenance, spares planning etc."
- "We have a plan for bringing the Hall C system up to that same level of robust operation."
- Mark is attending an accelerator meeting at 3:30pm and can give an update on the progress of these conditions afterwards.
