Accelerator, Hall Status and runplan Progress
- Beam restoration to the Hall completed in Swing shift, see log: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949485 raster size and carbon hole from spot++: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949803
- GEM-optics run, done
- Optics run, done
- Sieve slit was taken out in the middle of the OWL shift
- GEM Rate study, on going
- GEM Efficiency scan, done, see log: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3950370
- This morning PD mentioned that the poorly shaped beam during Harp Scan in last swing shift is due to Moller Magnets, see a log related to this magnet: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949957 , they've been working around it, seems the issue is not lurking anymore.
Pending and New issues
- GEM layer J0 common mode is drifting higher again, last time it was due to a loose LV connector. We will live with this for now since all GEM data seems fine, we will resolve this issue next time when we get a chance to access the Hall
- HODO scope HV issue (still there? need expert to confirm), see log: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3950179 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3950158
- analysis of GEM optics run from Andrew suggests that:The track distributions (page 4) are more or less as we might expect to see for the sieve slit, except it appears there may be some "hot spots" in the BBCAL trigger, suggesting perhaps the gain needs adjusting on some channels? BBCAL experts should look into this. In particular, there is a spike in the track distribution at about +0.5 m in x, which might map to the bottom row or rows of BBCAL.
Resolved Issues
- GEM Latency seems fixed
- DAQ is stable
