Procedures

Hall A call-in instructions:

  • Call RC first.
  • Techs on site 7am-4:30pm Mon-Thu, 7-11am Fri. RC will call Hall A work coordinator (Zak) during normal working hours. After hours, RC calls Tech on-call.
  • After 9pm everything non-emergency needs to be deferred. What is emergency and what's not? Call RC. RC talks with Mark to decide.

Hall Access procedure:

  • Access check list (binder on the counting room desk) needs to be filled out before making *any* access.
  • Scan (take pictures with phone) and post it to the logbook.
  • Any work inside the SBS, BB boundary need to have PS locked out -- requires two QEWs to throw the big switch. Exception: field measurements.

Overall Summary

General

Shift Plan

  • All shifts are canceled through Friday Owl shift.

Beam

  • None!

Hall A Dump Repair

  • Stuart has approved the procedures for starting back up in hall A.
  • The water in building 91 was hopefully cleaned out today, and they just need to apply the decon gel and let it dry.
  • Tomorrow, facilities should be able to go in and check the electronics. If this looks good, then they can restart the pump.
  • Once the pump is turned on it will take a MINIMUM of 12 hours to get things running again.
  • We expect beam on Friday at the earliest.

Accelerator status

  • Maintenance on the MO and gun will be done tomorrow from 6am and all the way through the end of Swing shift. This means no beam for any of the halls.
    • This work will ensure that Hall A can run through Thanksgiving.
  • Hall C will be doing a Moller measurement on Thursday.
