RC Meeting Information

RC Daily Meetings are at 3:15pm, remote connection link: https://bluejeans.com/256205934

Accelerator and Hall Status

  • We are currently in controlled access, probably through the whole day shift. Should be able to back to beam permit in Swing shift.
  • Subsystems fixed a series issues during the controlled access, see subsystem updates.
  • 10 uA on LD2, and 12 uA on LD2 GEM/Tracking study runs were finished in last Swing shift
  • RC for next week: Eric King

Pending and New issues

  • GEM Layer INFN J0 common mode drifting higher, see loghttps://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3953952

Resolved Issues

  • The noisy APV on one UV layer has been resolved, see a log by Sean: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3953885
  • DAC GUI for setting up BBCal Trigger Threshold was fixed, the rpi controller for this has been configured as remote controllable
  • HCAL HV miscommunication issue was fixed
  • Power cycled GEM HV Crate in an escorted access in last Swing shift, this resolved GEM HV Monitor frozen issue
  • Script to accurately calculate beam charge is close to finish by Bob and David

Subsystem Updates

  1. HCAL
    1. Raspberry PI controller for HV is fixed, now it is remote controllable;
    2. Updated online Panguin plots, it is working in the counting house for shift crew.
    3. DAC GUI for setting BBCal trigger threshold is fixed
    4. work on new timing resolution analysis on-going
  2. BBCal:
    1. Moved rpi controller to remote controllable power switch
    2. Still need to do a cosmic run under SBS-OFF BB-ON configuration. Since needs BB-ON, so need Hall in Beam Permit to do it
  3. Timing hodoscope:
    1. Things are OK, happy with 50k replay results
  4. Grinch:
  5. GEMS:
    1. Full replay for higher beam current run is on-going
    2. The cause for INFN J0 layer common mode drifting higher issue is not clear. LV, patch panel all looks fine
      1. The drift of common mode to higher value may lead to failed online zero suppression, fixable in offline
      2. Common mode drift in the order of 40 - 50 ADC, still within our online zero suppression cut threshold: 100 ADC
      3. Not necessary to retake pedestal too often, pedestal is stable
    3. New GEM pedestal run is already done
    4. From Sean: two problematic APVs on UVa GEM layers have been fixed. Confirmed one more HV sector died on one UV GEM chamber
  6. Beamline:
    1. Updated scaler GUI, Mya Plot
    2. A very rough calibration for scaler variables is done
    3. A detailed plan to accurately do the calibration is developed, will be performed after the meeting
  7. DAQ:
    1. Smooth DAQ
    2. Prepared a new CODA config, which includes saving raw data to both /adaqeb1 and /adaqeb2
  8. Replay analysis:
    1. Full replay for higher current run on GEMs are on-going.

Run Plan
