Summary
The beam delivery was good over the past 24 hours. On our side, we had multiple DAQ issues and lost a couple of hours of running because of that (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4291751 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292485).
At the moment we are running at 10 uA on LD2 and 15 uA on LH2 with BBCal threshold set to -350 mV and HCal threshold set to -10 mV. With these threshold values, the inclusive elastic yield looks already satisfactory good, and we are still looking into other ways to potentially increase the BB and HCal efficiency. Holly was adjusting GEMs high voltages yesterdays evening in order to increase their efficiency (see e.g. https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292205, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292265, and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292360). Also, later this week we would want to do a new software and hardware gain matching targeting a higher overall gain for HCAL. Bill Henry is also working on the active analyzer and hodoscope (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292011 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292037).
The Hall A air sampler unit that went out of order on Sunday night is now fixed (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292130).
See also the logentry for Andrew Puckett about running 50k replays and full replays (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292775).
Tomorrow is a Maintenance day. The beam will be taken away at 6:45am in order to open both SL ann NL before 8am. Hall A will go to Restricted access probably for the whole Day shift. Please let me know if you are going to work in the hall.

We will have our daily 3:30 pm RC meeting on the 2nd floor of the counting house and on zoom.
Planned Access to the Hall
On Wednesday (05/01) we plan to put the Hall in Restricted access during the Maintenance day. This is to bring in a large enclosure for the ECal for doing some cosmic test (Jimmy Caylor, Simona, and Donald) and also to bring out some material to be used in making the Gep SBS GEM detector.
Other work planned in the Hall for Wednesday (05/01):
- GEM work (Holly).
- Hodoscope discriminator replacement (Bill Henry).
- Heidi wants to go to the Hall.
Accelerator
- Wednesday (05/01) will be the maintenance day. MCC plans to take the beam away at 6:45 am to open both SL and NL before 8am.
Current Run Plan
We did a few tests over the weekend to better understand changes in the inclusive elastic yield depending on the BBCal and HCal thresholds. Based on these studies, we set the BBCal threshold at -350 mV and HCal threshold at -10 mV for now. The beam current is 10 uA for production on LD2.
We also need to take a 1-hour run on LH2 with the production settings once per shift at 15 uA.
- Thursday (04/25) HCal threshold studies (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4288910).
- Friday (04/26) BB singles (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4289712). See Andrew Puckett's study (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4290174).
- Saturday (04/27) BBCal threshold test (see https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4290231 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4290326). See Andrew Puckett's study (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4290654).

Current Issues
- Holly was adjusting GEMs high voltages yesterdays evening (04/29) in order to increase their efficiency (see e.g. https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292205, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292265, and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292360).
- On Monday (04/29) Bill Henry updated the pedestals for the FADCs in the grinch crate for the rp hodoscope and the active analyzer (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292011). He also noticed an issue with some hodoscope channels which may point to a bad discriminator (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292037).
- On Sunday (04/28) downstairs HallA air monitoring alarm started alarming (ODH alarm). This does not affect the beam delivery and RadCon plans to look into it on Monday (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4290926). --> Fixed (see https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4292130).
- On Saturday (04/27) Bill Henry turned off a few pmts in the active analyzer because they were noisy (see https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4290526 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4290718). He continued working on this on Sunday, too (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4291061).
- On Fri Swing and Sat Owl Vimukthi and the GEM group adjusted high voltages for three SBS GEM modules. This was done with the intention of increasing the efficiency of those modules (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4289667 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4290293).
Future plans
- Wednesday (05/01) will be the maintenance day. MCC plans to take the beam away at 6:45 am to open both SL and NL before 8am.
- On Wednesday (05/01) we plan to put the Hall in Restricted access during the Maintenance day. This is to bring in a large enclosure for the ECal for doing some cosmic test (Jimmy Caylor, Simona, and Donald) and also to bring out some material to be used in making the Gep SBS GEM detector. There will be other work done in the hall, too (Holly, Bill Henry, Heidi).
- MCC does not plan any major beam changes up until May 14th.
