Summary
After the beam studies yesterday (04/25) Jiwan took a quick access to the hall to reboot the HCal hv crate (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4289000). After the reboot, the HCal noisy channel was fixed.
The beam was restored to the halls around 7:40 pm (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4289132). After the beam recovery we did threshold studies (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4288910) in order to better understand the rates and efficiency as at the moment the elastic rate still seems to be much lower than was expected. For the threshold studies, the HCal threshold was set to -10 mV and the beam current to 6 uA and we took data on both LH2 and LD2.
We were done with the threshold studies as around 2am and proceeded back to our regular production running, which is 12 uA on LD2 with -15.8 mV HCal threshold. In the morning we also took a 1-hour run on LH2 in the same setting.
For today it was decided to run with a -12mV HCAL threshold.
Day shift summary (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4288668).
Swing shift summary (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4288946).
Owl shift summary (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4289176).
We will have our daily 3:30 pm RC meeting on the 2nd floor of the counting house and on zoom.

Accelerator
Wednesday (05/01) will be the maintenance day. MCC plans to take the beam away at 6:45 am to start working on SL.
Current Run Plan
Yesterday we did threshold studies (see https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4288910) to better understand efficiency and rates. David Hamilton and Andrew Puckett will look at the data we took yesterday and then we will discuss how to proceed further.
For today's Day shift (04/26) we were running at 12 uA on LD2 with the HCal threshold -12 mV. We also need to take 1-hour runs on LH2 in the same setting once per shift.
Starting from today's Swing shift the plan is the following (as was discussed on the RC meeting): https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4289712
See also Experiment run plans.
Current Issues
Vimukthi and the GEM group would like to tweak high voltages for three SBS GEM modules. This will not disrupt production data taking. This is done with the intention of increasing the efficiency of those modules. See https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4289667 and they also want to try another setting once the beam is back.
Future plans
- Wednesday (05/01) will be the maintenance day. MCC plans to take the beam away at 6:45 am to start working on SL.
- MCC does not plan any major beam changes up until May 14th.
