Useful Links
Accelerator
- Many issues reported in today's meeting: Machine instability, current instability, oscillation in orbit motion (1.5m frequency), water leakage in tunnel
- Could deliver physics beam for 3h on Carbon, and 1:20h for LH2
- ARC A box supply trip
- Expeting to send beam by 1:00PM, if fail on DC power for magnets, can down accelerator until Monday
Hall-A
Status of Hall
- Beam check completed
- Straight through data on thin Carbon for 3h.
- 1:20h data on LH2
- Beam position on the target is fluctuating
Updates on Subsystems
- ECal:Calibration requred
- HCal:Calibration requred
- GEMS:FT L1
- CDET:Calibration requred
- DAQ:
- Analysis Software
Access request Today
- None
Items to keep an eye
- Target chamber pressure (Lawrence is looking an spare turbo pump, we might get one from Hall-B): Old
- SBS magnet current stability/overheating test: Plane dropped
Shifts
- TO and SL required (Shift are filled for June 10)
Run plan when MCC sends beam back
- Follow beam restoration procedure to the Hall
- Carbon foil straight through: SBS magnet OFF run (1 - 3 uA for two hour)
- Production: Needs new update
* 5uA beam for 8 hours * 10uA beam for 8 hours
- For higher current upto 50 uA, MCC needs to notified a few day early
Beam Restoration Procedure
- Use new "cross target" (1x1 mm "+" shape) for beam restoration as described in https://sbs.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/HOW_TOs#Beam_Recovery_Procedure_for_GEp
Beam requirements
- start off at 5 pass beam
- intrinsic beam size (at target): 150–500 µm (how high can be acceptable??)
- raster size: 2 mm X 2 mm
- During kin#3 SBS magnet will be at 1762.23 Amp (copy provided to MCC to keep in the binder)+ corrector magnet setting will be scaled down for this current
- production run @ 5-10 µA for now
- For later
- production beam current : 50 µA
