RC Meeting Information

RC Daily Meetings are at 3:30 (pm) via Zoom and in person in the counting house meeting room (2nd floor)

Summary

  • Beam off for pass change in Hall C around 9:20 yesterday then Hall is accessed to fix GEM DAQ and BBCAL-HV
  • First harp scan during day shift wasn't good https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4305263, and MCC took beam away to fix optics
  • Tune back back to hall in swing shift only. Beam profile and carbon hole scan https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4305386 was good, so ready for production around 17:50
  • HCAL threshold scan with 2uA current on LD2 w/radiator was completed for -15 to -35 mV https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4305569
  • Following Andrew suggestion, HCal threshold was fixed to -25 mV and BBCal threshold changed to -290 -> -315 -> -325 mV (*3.8 in MeV)
  • Production run overnight with HCAL threshold -25 mV and BBCAL -325 mV @3 uA beam current, setting up DAQ live time > 80%
  • SBS magnet readback current fluctuation (set to 1470 A but reaches upto 1500 A sometimes) https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4305766 (noticed from MCC around 3:20 am, but RC didn't get info until this morning) -> Talked with Joe Beaufait and Dave Gaskelle (Ellen mentioned this issue was seen by them at this set current), and discussed with Bogdan. [decided to measure the readback current and field locally after the experiment]
  • Many SBS GEMs were found off by Holly around 6 am (they seems to be tripped off around 3:40 am and shift crew didn't notice !!!)
  • Paul changed the current threshold for parity DAQ
  • Bogdan and Andrew changed BBCal threshold back to -300 mV and beam current reduced to 2.5 uA (DAQ livetime ~85%)
  • Continue production run whenever we have beam to the hall

Access to the Hall

Accelerator

  • Accelerator beam studies currently scheduled on May 19th (starting at 7:00 am) and May 20th (until 7:00 am)

Current Run Plan

  • Raster is on.
  • Target is LD2 with radiator
  • BB magnet at 750 A and SBS magnet at 1470 A (70%)
  • Set ps3=0 (coin trigger), ps5=5 , all others to -1 .
  • Set BBCal threshold to approximately ~1140 MeV ( -300 mV in BBCALHI DAC) and HCAL threshold (-25 mV)
  • Beam current 2.5 uA
  • 2 hr long runs
