Summary

Beam available since 5:50 am (See Accelerator section for details). We took harp scans: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4294217 https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4294218 https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4294285

After that, we experienced issues with target:

  • Target ladder got stuck;
  • we tried to reboot IOC to solve it, but PID did not come back properly after; https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4294238
  • Chandan and Silviu solved the problem (thank you!)
  • needed to hit "Clear Record" to fix the problem.

Problem solved around 7am.

Carbon hole run: https://logbooks.jlab.org/files/2024/05/4294403/summaryPlots_625_SBS_critical_plots.pdf Beam is centered. Switched all HVs on and got back to production: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4294343

DAQ issues, due to mssing MPDs: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4294362 Fixed by powercycling corresponding crate.

First production data since yesterday: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4294386 This morning, the GEM experts discovered that some of the work of yesterday on the GEMs lead to a significant loss of acceptance on L4M0 (top rear tracker) https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4294598 Access was granted to fix this. Due to the amount of people needed for this work, a controlled access was necessary. Several other people (including ECAL) also went inside. Total down time was from 11am to 2pm.

Planned Access to the Hall

GEM people want to go back in the Hall on Monday. ECal people and recoil polarimeter people want to tag along.

Accelerator

Several issues trailing up after maintenance day:

Beam was available again at 5:50 am.

Current Run Plan

Take some LH2 data at low intensity varying HV to until the end of day shift, to determine the best HV setting to run production with for the next few days. Next shift will come back to the usual production pattern: Take data at 10 uA for production on LD2: BBCal threshold at -350 mV and HCal threshold at -10 mV for now. Once per shift, take a 1-hour run at 15 uA on LH2 with the production settings. See also Experiment run plans.
